Tach reads wrong

Tach reads wrong
I just bought my 86 Camaro and the wiring is sketchy. One thing has me puzzled. The tach reads about 3x what it should. Idle is 2500 and tachs out while cruising. Anybody had this happen to them?

Everybody's does that. Completely normal unfortunately. That's how they all fail.
