A/c signal request

Car: 1987 Jeep YJ
Engine: 91 TPI 350
Transmission: Getrag MG5
Axle/Gears: D30/35, 4.10
A/c signal request
When searching I see two different answers. Is the A/C signal request (BC9) supposed to see 12V or 5V? By looking at the diagram I would think 12V. I just put in A/C in my 92 TPI motor in a Jeep YJ. I am under the impression that wiring this signal request will boost RPM when the clutch engages and also send signal to secondary fan. Would this be correct?
