88 power issue
88 power issue
OK, I have an 2.8 88.
My Headlights and tail lights have power. Along with my dash back light and interior lights. As does my cig lighter.
What doesn't have power... Like everything else:
Doesn't turn over. No fuel pump. No indicator lights. Rear hatch doesn't have power. Windshield wipers, no power. The fan is also on a manual switch wired into the my wiring harness. Also no power.
Car does nothing when you try to fire her up.
Already changed the Ignition key and I just picked up a new starter/solenoid.
Just qurious what everyone thinks could be my issue.

Re: 88 power issue
There are , of course , several different failures that could cause what you are describing . If I were forced to blindly bet on any one of the possible suspects , I'd place the best odds on a bad "Fusable Link" .
Two things take out fusable links ;
#1 , age , this is the "best" way (if such a thing as best exists with any failure) for one to fail because all it takes is a new one to fix the problem .
#2 , the dreaded "Short Circuit" , this is evident by a replacement fusable link going bad right after being installed to replace the original bad one . If a replacement fusable link does go bad , circuit diagnosis will be needed by someone familiar with automotive electrical work to isolate & repair the short circuit so the link stops going bad .
PS , welcome to TGO .
