led bulbs a different issue

led bulbs a different issue

i am putting LED bulbs in for all my exterior lights on my camaro. the problem i have is none of the LED bulbs will twist into the socket on the car. i am using pilot brand 5050 smd bulbs. anyone esle have this issue. i am just worried that the bulbs will come loose and not function.

Can you post pics of the bases of the LED bulbs in question? The bases of the LED bulbs should be equivalent to and look like these:

1. 1157 or 2057 for the stop/tails.
2. 1157NA or 2057NA for the front park/turn.
3. 1156 or 2056 for the back-up (I think the turn signals use the same these as well).
4. 194 for the side markers.

the bases are the same as the original except for the fact that the new ones bottom out before you can get it in far enough to twist and lock

Then they are similar but not the same bases

Compare the bulbs. The locations of the locating pins of the LED bulbs and the filament bulbs should be the same (end of the bulb to pins) for them to fit and lock into the socket.

Also note, that the pins on dual filament bulbs are not directly across from each other; they're staggered up/down (unlike single filament bulbs). Perhaps you have a mis-match with the pins on the LED bulbs and the sockets?
