who sells the best power window motors?
who sells the best power window motors?
The power windows on my car have gotten very slow and the passenger side takes forever to go up and down.
I was looking online and you can buy a set of power window motors on eBay for $49.99 for the pair with free shipping. Are all the replacement motors for these cars the same or is there a certain brand that last longer and works better?

How slow is slow? These things aren't exactly or even remotely fast normally. Could just be your window tracks are dirty or gunked up or the motors need lubed. Do a search for power window maintenance or lubing.
Lots easier to try first

I avoid anything that comes in a Cardone box (numerous leaky PS pumps out of the box; same p/n). Unfortunately, we're at the mercy of availability with old vehicles.
I had to replace a dead window motor in my Acura with a Cardone rebuilt unit. It's minimally better than the dead motor. It's so slow you can plant and harvest corn before the window shuts.

If you go the route of the relay(s) you can make them yourself with the parts from partsdirect.com. That particular classified ad popped up in 2014, I made my thread in 2013 (https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/elec...-switches.html) that talks about doing the same thing and there are members that chimed in that had had it done before me and helped me out. Really is pretty easy and cheap to do.
If you are looking to get every last bit of life out of the motor you can read this thread:

That along with cleaning the tracks may extend the life a little longer but bottom line is that window motor is at least 25 years old now....
I used a new motor from AutoZone and it has been fine.

If a person is going inside the door, I'd absolutely recommend cleaning and lubing the window tracks. My latest project car, the old grease was hard as a rock and full of dirt. In plenty of places I had to chip away the stuff since it was more like concrete than a lubricant.
I wouldn't expect it to fix a bad motor, but it's regular maintenance most people never perform.
