Need to "Flick" my relay to get fans to work??

My temp gauge is around 180 - 185 when fans work, as soon as it hits any higher I know I should pull over and open hood, and "Flick" the relay to get the fans to work again. I bought a new relay, same thing is happening. Am I getting the wrong relay? Maybe need something bigger than 40A/12VDC?

its for a 1992 Z28, has two fans.

I did a search and came up with these.
If there not right search the site again.

Also some open box style relays are off a little when it comes to swapping the wires straight across.

You have to look at the numbers on the bottom to make sure the wires are going on the correct post with the open box relay you are showing . The correct style relay that is shone in the link I posted has a specific stock style connector. It should also have numbers on the bottom of it though.

If you have had that relay in and out a bunch of times, then most likely the spade connectors are now loose. You should be able to remove each wire/terminal and give them a little squeeze to tighten them up.

^ I was going to say this, but make sure the entire plastic connector housing is in good shape. I've seen the relays connectors by the fire wall get pretty toasty, wonder if this happened and it's not making a good connection?
