Transmission: 700r4
83 camaro won't start

1983 camaro z28 (305 with carb) autotranny. Wont start as soon as i turn my key it makes clicking noise and every light on car flickers,flashes randomly. if you can help in advance i thank you

Battery or cables... clean the connections at both ends of the cables first, but especially at the batt end. Use baking soda and hot water to clean the batt terminals, then a small wire brush to get to new un-corroded metal.

i tried cleaning all the post and everything.but i still get the same problem am not hearing the clicking from the starter. but as soon as i turn the key the red immobilizer light goes off then i hear light beeping sound the hazards come on and the dash light start blinking. i can maybe get a video later tonight or tomorrow but thank you sofa for the fast reply

Check where the wires go into the terminals. Check the other ends, where they hook to the block (actually I think it's the smog pump bracket?) and to the starter post. Also, make sure your battery isn't farkled: put your voltmeter on the batt terminals themselves, NOT the cables connectors or wires, and see if the voltage stays up over 12V when your assistant turns the key.
