Blower motor and a.c. compressor no power
Blower motor and a.c. compressor no power
I have a 85 iroc that I just swapped my computer controlled 305 carb motor out for a built 355 and I'm having problems that my blower motor or a.c. compressor will not turn on with the switches. I have a bundle of old plugs not being used with the new motor and I removed the computer. Anyone have an idea of where I should start? Everything worked before the swap

Check the ACC fuse. (I think that's what it's called; might be HEATER)
If that's good, next step is removing the AC control head. You'll find only a few wires: one harness that has like light blue, yellow, orange, and a green; and one dark brown wire all by itself. Follow the dark brown up into the dash. About a foot up, you'll come to a crappy connector of THE STOOOOOOPIDEST DESIGN EVAH. You'll find that it's burnt to ashes. Cut it off and replace it with a set of the BIG FAT THICK WIDE HEAVY-DUTY slide/spade terminals with a yellow barrel. NOT, the little skinny thin narrow weenie kind that's exactly like the red and blue ones except yellow; you want the BIG FAT THICK WIDE HEAVY-DUTY kind. Use insulated ones, or sleeve & tape them over real good.
