Stinking optima batt died

My stinking optima won't start my old c10 when it's hot. I've had it sense 08 I guess that's long enough so I'll buy another one. Just last month I was hoping to get 10 years out of it. O well.

I've never had good luck with Optima batteries. I bought a couple red tops and they didn't last. One was replaced under warranty and still only lasted a few years.
I only buy ACDelco ones now.

My friend used to have to replace the ones in his Boston Whaler every other season, even when they were on a maintainer during the off-season.

I never owned an Optima (and will not even if they're free). I hear too many stories of them dying prematurely and when you least expect it. Of course, one only hears of bad news, right?

I think any car battery that lasts 9 years has served it's part of the bargain .....

I got seven years out of the last yellow top in my bird and the yellow out of my wife's stang. We both always drive them or at least swap them between fixed and broken rides. The first red top I got for the wife's car lived through the next two cars her brother bought. Then my brother bought a red and it hardly made over two years.

I've had my Redtop in my GTA since November of 2001 and it still works great. Yup, fifteen and a half years now. I had my car in the garage (without starting it once) since the middle of February, so I went out there a week ago and it started just fine without charging it at all or disconnecting anything while the car sat.
