CCC distributor advancing without ECM

'82 fb lg4:
CCC distributor advances from initial 9° BTDC at idle to 22° at 2500rpm (total).
The ECM is unplugged and also a Non-CCC carb installed.
How is this possible? Distributor doesn't have weights.

curve is something like:

9° @ 800 RPM
12@1200
15@1500
18@1800
20@2000
22@2500

i don't understand. the ccc distributor doesn't have any signal to advance the timing, it should do nothing. am i wrong?

If you dig into the Helms service manuals, they go into some detail, there's usually a low speed section, and a hi speed section. A Delco module usually has a better backup system than aftermarket.

Re: CCC distributor advancing without ECM

Alot of GM carbureted marine engines use the small HEI EST distributers running without any ECM input.
