Dash Light Connection
does anyone know of an easy location to tap the dash lights? I am adding a boost gauge and want to tie in and dim it with the dash lights...

The radio harness would probably be the easiest point.

I believe it is the grey wire you want, I think the brown wire only controls the clock dimming.

The fuse block is easier still. There are extra terminals in the fuse block for gauge lighting, constant 12v+, and switched 12v+. If you want to get really fancy, you can buy the Delco connectors that plug right in, but most people just use a male spade terminal.

That's awesome!! I am coming right down there with a harness but wouldn't that be a full 12 volt source not dim with the dash lights?

Drew is correct, look for an opening that is labeled either LPS or INST LPS. That is the dimming circuit.
