Vss module
I have a 1983 Camaro with cable speedometer and remanufacturred 700r4. The car previously had 200r4. The speedo cable needs to be changed and the cable goes into vss and then another cable into trans. What is the vss needed for since it's cable speedometer? What is it signaling? The car doesn't have cruise control, and the vss wiring Is old and crumbling when I'm trying to change speedo cable. Randy

Re: Vss module
The vss could be used for lockup if equipped . I don't know the capability of your ecm assuming it's ccc.

Re: Vss module
Sounds like you can ditch the vss but get a conversion done on the t56 tailhousing.
