Hey guys I need help trying to troubleshoot my alternator, I've been seeing mixed results and can't get a straight answer. Some threads say both brown wires and red need to have power with key ON and the red still has power with key off. With key on I have power to only the brown/white wire in middle. Some say the other brown wire just goes to a CHARGE indicator on the dash which doesn't light up if I have it. Can anyone please give me a straight answer on this? Thanks guys

 

For anyone in the future-looks like I was right about the red being constant 12v from battery, brown/white being the excite/key ON signal, and brown being for gauge. Replaced alternator last night and I'm charging at 13-14 volts, plus car runs and takes off from a stop like any Camaro should
