Hey, im new here, I have a 1986 firebird trans am with the lg4 carbed motor ( not stock anymore) and I want to swap the tach in it for a nearly identical one from a v6 se from the same year. I want the v6 tach because it goes up to 8000rpm with the yellow line at 5500rpm and the redline at 6000rpm, whereas the original tach goes up to 6000rpm with a yellow line at 4500rpm and a redline at 5000rpm. I have looked all over the web and cannot find a writeup that is for this style of dash. They all are for the earlier dashes before 1985-ish or the 90-92 dashes with the divorced control board for the tach. I know that I have to chance some resistances for the tach to work correctly, but I do not know which ones or how much. Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
