Another low-beam headlamp burnt out
So I had yet another Sylvania Silverstar burn out again on the passenger side in only a couple months. I do believe I have a short, either in the line or possibly in the plug. With my car being an 85 my fog lamps are also inline with the headlamps, not just the parking lamps. I do not own a good multimeter, and don't trust the Harbor Freight freebies. So I am wondering if anyone has had problems with the connector, before I start eyeballing the entire wire connection from the connector all the way back.
Thanks in advance for your help,

You should get a low cost analogue (because they respond faster than the expensive ones) multimeter.
Good call to avoid H.F.
One must be an experienced buyer to be able to tell the good items from the items so cheaply made they will never work.
Now to your headlight.
It is not burning out from a short, but a possible bad batch on the market.
A bad connector cannot burn out the filament.
Have you applied power directly to the lamp?
Take a close at the harness connector.
Are the contacts discolored?
Might be time for a new connector.
I apply a marine grade water barrier to all my connectors which keeps them sparkling clean permanently.
When buying headlight connectors, avoid the cheap ones.
They are made with a too thin metal for the contacts which cause them to overheat.
