First of all, I am apologizing for not posting in years...I visit, but havent said anything.

From the beginning:
Changed motor around 7-8 years ago with a JY part. Also added the remote popper, and connected the wire to it. I do not have the switch/relay assembly in the console, but there is a 3 wire plug there for it.
Car has been parked/storage for last 2 years. Hatch no longer opens with key. When trying to turn the key, the most I could turn it was maybe the 1 oclock position. I have since drilled the lock out, and exposed the white plastic receiver, which I tried to turn with a screwdriver...same movement as the key. I put a lot of force into it, but nothing budged. I stopped trying for fear of breaking the plastic.
I cant tell if the cable is moving.
I also tried to jump the orange wire in the console to the black, but got nothing running.
Fuse is good in the fusebox.
I have a relay that looks like the proper one, but i'm not sure if I'de be wasting my time trying to get the remote popper to work right now.
What do you think my next plan of attack should be? Rip the back plastic off from around the motor and play with the switches to maybe unstick it, or just unbolt the pos and replace with new assembly, or...???????
Thanks

If all else fails, there is a way to do it without breaking the back plastic, but it kind of sucks because you cannot get to the phillips head screws on top of the plastic. I once had to do this. If all else fails and you cannot apply power to the remote release somehow or get the lock to turn, here's what you can do. Crawl back in there and remove all of the large plastic screws and the spare tire cover, then lift up on the bottom of the back panel as far as you can and feel up behind it with a small screw driver and release the latch manually. You won't be able to see what you're doing and it may take awhile, but I was able to pop the hatch this way and then I removed the plastic panel and left it off for several days until I was certain I had it fixed.
