Help! Tim, anyone. Another remote starter (N/V, need wire harness info)
I looked back in the archives and nothing I found related to my car. I need the turn signal harness/ coulmb wire info on a 82 firebird. The installation instructions for the remote starter, says there should be this color wire and that, no deal. Also since this is a carbed car Im thinking of hooking up one of the power wires from the unit to the ac idle compennsater so it sets the choke for me. Which wire on the starter unit should I use to power it.
Thanks.

Here are the diagrams for an '85 - the turn signal wires should be the same color:

The purple wire going to the starter has power during cranking.

Here's a alittle more info:
Here are the colors:
The following wires will be on the steering column from the ign switch:
CONSTANT 12 VOLTS- Red
IGNITION 12 VOLTS- Pink
STARTER----------- Yellow
ACCESSORY--------- Brown
IGNITION #2------- Orange
Ignition #2 is what powers the climate controls. When
doing a remote start, this wire needs to be connected
to the remote system in order for the a/c and heater
to come on while the car is running by the remote. That
way you can start it in the winter and have the car
heat up before getting in or cool down in the
summertime.
TACH SIGNAL ------- White wire at distributer
NUETRAL SAFETY ---- Orange/black
PARKING LIGHTS ---- Brown at the switch
DOME LIGHT/DOOR TRIGGER-- White wire at pin switch. Also can be found at courtesy light under dash if so equipped.
POWER LOCK --------- Light Blue in driver kick panel
POWER UNLOCK ------ Black in driver kick panel.
BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH-- Light blue or yellow at the switch above pedal.
TRUNK PIN SWITCH--Orange/black wire at the trunk light.

Thanks for the repleys guys. I did get it altogather already and a few of the wires are different still. What you both posted is exactly what the instructions say
but my harness is different. Well the remote starter does work now but the heater/ac is running off direct power. If I slide the swich over to ac or heat the blower motor will run (car off). Where did I go wrong? I cant say for sure if the car did this before, I always turn the controlls off before I shut the engine off. Any sugggestions?
Thanks
