After getting The carbed 383 stroker running in my 87 Z28 I have noticed that the only gauges that are working are my oil pressure and Tach. I noticed that my volt and temp are not working. There is battery power going to the alternator but its only putting out 11.8 volts running. I do know from the years working on cars that the volt meter gauge and light has to be working to complete the circuit so that the alternator will charge. As far as the temp gauge i figure the original builder put the wrong sending unit in the head. Does anybody have a good schematic to the gauges in my 87 Z28. I am a person that likes his factory gauges to work even tho I may put after market in there someday.
