1990 Camaro low beam headlight question

the passenger side low beam headlamp went out last night so I bought a replacement Sylvania h4656 today. I went to install it and it goes in but doesn’t fit like the old one did. The retaining bezel can’t be screwed down flush. Also the connector won’t seat all the way down as on the original (h4662).
I had replaced the drivers side a couple months back with an nos 90’s Sylvania h4656 and it fit exactly like the original bulb. I am assuming this is more of that “made in China” bs. Where things aren’t made to exact standards.

has anyone else experienced this? Looks like I will have to buy an nos bulb off eBay to get something correct
