if you have four low beams everyone will assume your bright lights are on.

Figured I didn't explain it right.. I want to switch to one bulb that control hi and lo. Then get rid of the old hi beam bulb.

Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
youd also have to mod the stock wiring or make your own harness.
Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
The wiring shouldn't be difficult. The question is: Is there a single 6.5" by 3.9" available that has both low and high beam?

Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
its a lot mroe involved then simply cutting a plug off and adding a new plug. you have to wire the high beam function into the low beam spot since theyre not connected. itd be easier to just make an entirely new headlight harness that taps into the dimmer switch and runs off the battery via relays.

Yeah that past my comfort level including the relays. Anyone know how to properly wire something like this?

Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
wait.... you're going to have 4 headlights... but two won't be functional, and two will operate as both high beams and low beams?
or are you talking about changing the headlights to a one piece unit? (which is a nice look if you can pull it off)

Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
Just rewire it to be like a Firebird, which is Hi/Lo in 2 bulbs. Just hafta find a 5"x7" (iirc the Camaro size correctly) headlights.
Or aren't 2 of the Camaro headlights are a Hi/Lo function anyways ? Can't you just use those 2 & pull the other 2 Lo Beam only light openings for your CAI?

Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
That's what I read too. If that's the case, just remove the inside pair (high beam only) and tuck the connector away. The outer pair is HI/LO, so high beam is still available. If going to H4, a harness upgrade is still necessary.

Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
o yea, i forgot the outers were high/lo, i was thinking they were high only.
Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
I think that the outers aren't really hi/lo. That's to say, if the outers were all you had for headlights, you'd find the hi beams lacking.

Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
im sure if thats the case, that they make a 4x6 true high/low beam. but then again who knows. if it where me, id skip using sealed beam hologens altogether and retro fit a bixenon HID projector in a housing able have a single HID hi/lo on each side.
Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
That would be the way to go. Does such a kit exist?
Not to take over this thread, but the reason I replied is because I have an interest in using one of the headlights sockets as a CAI as has been suggested.
If there is any info available regarding this kind of mod, I'd like to see it.
Outer headlights as a high/lo beam unit with the inner buckets used as a source for cold air.

Re: want to turn my low beam headlight into a hi/low
I was thinking about the one piece headlight conversion.
I think the lights would come from a GMC truck don't they? Just go to a wrecking yard pull the lights / harnesses and mounting panel then just glass up a Frankenstein panel to make it fit right?
or am I not seeing an easier way?
