Wiper motor fuse

I have an 84 Z28. My fuse box has a 25 amp wiper motor fuse location but the configuration of the fuse box will not allow the fuse to seat. The brass terminals are there, but there is a plastic berrier in the way. Obviously I am missing something. Can anyone help?
