Questions trunk and Keys
Questions trunk and Keys
Hello, I have two questions,
I am in France and I would have to double my keys, I could see that I could order blank keys, but can I cut models here in France? They do not have an anti-start?
My second question concerns the opening of the trunk of the car. I have the basic version that does not have the opening inside, but I could see that the car is pre-wired, if I install a connector, can it work? Are there relays to install?
Thank you

Re: Questions trunk and Keys
The parts that you would need will depend on the year of your car.
Door / Hatch lock keys are the same from 82-92... any hardware store should be able to grind a replacement key to the proper form to match the original and should work fine.
Ignition keys are basic from 82-(most)88s,.. starting in LATE 88 the ignition key had a security chip on it. If your car is 89 -92 than you need to buy the correct version of this ignition key. Here is the VATS resister chart for 88-92 Camaro / Firebird.

The relays, wiring, and hatch release solenoid that you will need to install the optional "Hatch Release" button in your car will depend on the year and the model of your F-Body.

Your car is a 91,..... I think that there were 2 different types of match pull down motors used in 91. There was a type used from 86-early 91 and then a new type was used in late 91 -92. The parts that you will need to get so you have a "Power Hatch Release" will depend on what type of hatch pull-down motor was used in your 91. Can you post a picture of your hatch motor ??
