Reverse t5 wiring help
Reverse t5 wiring help
I have an 86 iroc that was originally an lg4 with a T5 manual trans. The computer was removed about 20 years ago. The backup lights never worked after that. The wiring that went to the trans was removed along with the c221 and c202 connectors by the ecm (apparently this is where the backup lights ran through). I know there is a dark blue wire that is 12 volts switched. I found it coming out from behind the distributor. However for the life of me I cannot find the light green wire that goes to the reverse lights. I found the Fisher body junction and jumped 12 volts to the light green wire and the reverse lights came on.
So my question is. Does anybody know were the light green wire goes after it leaves the junction box? I thought it may run out of the c100 panel, but there is no light green wire coming out of it. If all else fails I may just run a new wire to the junction box, but that will be a last resort.

I know it’s an old thread, but have the exact same issue. We’re you able to track down the lt green wire? I have 1 that goes through the main wiring harness under the master cylinder, but it’s grouped in with wires that activated the A/C...

If your car is an 84,...... than the reverse light wires should be on the C207 connector; AKA: the Dash-to-ECM connectors under the pass side of the dash.
1984 C207
PIN Color From / To (Notes)
A Brn ALDL / ECM (AIR control)
B Dk Blue BU Fuse / Back Up Switch ( T5 only )
C Wht/Grn Light Driver / ECM
D Tan Oil Pres / Gauge (L4)
E Wht/Blk ALDL / ECM (test)
F Pnk/Blk IGN fuse / EGR-ECM
G Lt Green BU switch / Rev Lights ( T5 Only )
H Tan/Blk ALDL / TCC-ECM
J Org ALDL / ECM ( L4)
K Brn ECM / VSS
L Tan/Wht Fuel Relay / Fuel Pump ( L4 )
M Blk/Wht VSS, P/N switch / Grd
N Org/Blk ECM / P/N switch
P Ppl Brake / TCC ( V8 )
R Ppl Crk Fuse / EFI (L4)
You will need to obtain the back-up light switch connector, run it into the cabin, then tap into both of these wires.
** If your converting from an AUTO-to-Stick then the BLUE and GREEN reverse light wires will be found on the Neutral Safety Switch plug ( connected to the automatic shifter. )
