Powermaster quality?

I had bought a powermaster 47461 alternator that had the positive post on the side instead of the back. Snugging the positive terminal down and the bolt just snapped. As the terminal had that shinny yellowish color like bolts that are zinc plated I assumed it was new but the center was rusted completely. Is this just a one off thing or is this brand just not that great with quality. Should I get this exchanged or return it and look for a different brand? I would just open the alternator and replace the bolt but it seems bolt is part of an L bracket that bolts down to a terminal inside.
