82 vs 86 wiring harness

Hey folks, can anyone tell me yes/no that the harnesses are the same?

It's not extremely important about the accessories.

I have a 1982 Z28 camaro, I've put a small block in it, and the rats have got to most of the wiring under the dash, what they didn't get the P/O chopped the connectors off of....... I've found a harness from a 1986 RS camaro including fusebox. I was just curious if my other harnesses (tail lights, column wiring, etc.) would plug into the harness if I purchase it.

the 1982 I have is basic, no power windows or locks, no power anything...

NO.

Your best option is to use a 82-83 Wiring harness ONLY because those 2 years are unlike all others. The "power Distribution' wires are not in the same place @ C100 (firewall connector) and the 82-83 wiper system is NOT compatible with any other. ( & a 84-later wiper assembly can't be installed on your firewall.)

Can you make a later harness work,... yes; with some re-pinning work MOST of the car will be OK..... but the Wiper Assembly wiring conflict WILL remain so you will not have functional Wipers.

Ah, okay that's what I was afraid of...... So I'm stuck with finding an 82-83 harness then, it's a shame there isn't just a harness for the radio/hvac area. I believe everything else is intact. I've already pulled everything from the trans tunnel over to the passenger side out/loose.
