New Build Rewiring
On my build I am completely scrapping all OEM wiring in car. As we all know the fuse box swings down under the dash and is connected to the firewall by a bulkhead connector. Since I’m eliminating all wiring I’m looking at using the Painless 25-circuit Pro Series fusebox/wiring setup. Part #10413. All other door, radio, etc. harnesses I will make and all engine/trans/power will be the Holley Dominator harnesses. So here’s my questions: Will I be able to mount the bulkhead connection flush against the firewall in the OEM position or would I have to use the grommet style (Part#10411) and place the fuse box elsewhere? Has anyone ever done this? Will I still need to use the power accessory connector box that is mounted to the left side drivers kick panel? Thanks.

Re: New Build Rewiring
I was talking to my friend from American Auto Wire last weekend about the same thing for my 82. Hardest part other than the bulkhead connector would be interfacing with the dash cluster plug. If you're able to wire a car from scratch, give them a look. I've used a half dozen of the direct update kits on the Chevelles I've built, it's a quality product.
