Hi Guys. I have a 1984 Transam which i believe is an LG4 engine. I am getting intermittent spark so purchased a new distributor complete and plugs.
However the distributor is totally different to the one i have fit in the car and I have exhausted the web and can not find one the same. I know its a delco remy. Picture attached. has anyone had the same issue and what you did to rectify it or any ideas where i can get a like for like? Mine has a lot more wiring then any of the replacements i can find. I am in the UK so it takes a ling time to get parts and when they turn up wrong it's really disappointing. thanks guys

 

Think I saw your post on FB. You won't get a distributor with the 4 wire harness coming out of it. That harness is discontinued and no one repops it yet, i've heard because of the broken plastic parts where the wires come out? You will have to reuse it and use a silicone to make them seal better


I just bought the parts to rebuild mine but had to reuse that 4 wire harness.

I've never tried but can we get parts from that dist? That harness with the molded plastic pieces is what I'd want.

 

Well somebody makes it for sure. I'm not sure how to track that down though.
