Hey guys so my dad just got an LQ4 engine for his 1988 trans am and it's got the digital dash and that's the only thing holding him back from swapping it in do you guys know anyway to get the stock dash to work with the LQ4 or if there is any other quality digital dashes out there?

It's the same as any other swap, nothing special about the digital dash

so it’s essentially the same as wiring up a normal dash?

Mostly, with the exception that your tach won't cover the range needed for the new engine. They have a redline above the 5200 displayed on the dash, so if you plan on setting the redline above that (or even 6000 like some do), then you'll either need to have a custom LCD made with the the wider range or install a tach converter box from dakota digital and put a decal on the display with the new number range.
