v6 speedometer into v8

My odometer went out and I have found a replacement speedometer/odometer. I have a 92 rs v8, and the new speedometer/odometer is out of a 92 rs v6. Will it work if I swap out the speedometer and put it into my instrument cluster? Will it screw any of my other instruments up having a different speedometer?

It'll work plug & play if you swap the little electronic plate above the speedo too.
