intermittent electrical issue
88 firebird with a tbi 305, when cranking the tachometer reads from 1500-3000 rpm off the starter, and sends way too much fuel so you have to hold it at 50% throttle to start it. For a couple weeks it was fine but recently started dying while driving around 45 and then i would be able to start it right back up. Yesterday i started it and it started running super rough then died and i can get it to run fine but i havent found any wires that i can move around to make it better or worse. the voltage gauge is also reading lower than before, but the alternator was tested and is fine. the knock sensor plug is a bit messed up but wiggling the wire to that made no difference. if anyone has a list or diagram for all the grounds that would help a lot because all the grounds have been bad and id like to make sure ive checked them all.

Re: intermittent electrical issue
I would first look at the Instrument-Panel Bussed-Electrical Center (Fuse Panel) for water damage and/ or physical damage resulting in wiring making contact where it should not.

ive looked under there and seen no obvious damage. is the fuse panel removeable to check connections into it?

Lower the Assembly down and examine the Electrical-Connectors on the back-side of the Assembly.
Water often leaks into this area due to poor sealing of the windows.
If no corrosion is present, inspect for bare-wire, shorts, or loose connections.

I would definitely fix that knock sensor. Just moving it is not going to tell you what it is doing, but that gives the ecm a signal to adjust for your timing, and if it is messed up, it could be compensating for false knocks. How did you figure out it is giving too much fuel?
