Replaced ignition lock

I replaced the ignition lock on my 1990 camaro
I know the vats system is giving me the starting issue I’m looking at buying a bypass module or an OEM GM key with the correct resistor I need to start the car. NOW

Every time I connect the battery my lights flash and alarm goes off will this issue resolve when I get the correct chipped key or buy a buypass module? Or every time I put the key in after that the alarm will go off ?

The most that the VATS can do is disable the starter and fuel injectors. It is not a car alarm that flashes lights, activating the horn or any siren. It merely disables the ability to start the engine.

It sounds like your Camaro has an aftermarket security system installed.
