wiring gurus please advise
im lost. i have an 89 firebird that some one swapped a 90-92 tpi 350 into made the modified harness to work with the tbi computer.. that failed the car couldnt be tuned, was told to replace the harness and the computer. i bought a 7730 computer and it came with a harness but none of the connectors look right for the plug ins on the firewall or engine, plus its missing a lot of plugs my custom harness had........ now that you can kinda see where im coming from, any ideas as to moving forward? do i try and get another harness or do i try and build one from scratch (way out of my range of current knowledge) ive dealt with carbed engines thats all the experience i have, some very basic wiring on 70s cars like running aftermarket gauge clusters and vacuum pumps etc..

think i will try this this will give me a clear starting point and i can try and figure out the missing pieces later

Might have better luck for you 89 conversion to 1227730 asking one place not all over the internet. Plenty schematics for the 1227730 online . Harness divided into charging and lighting on the drivers side. Efi passengers side. If your harness is all hacked look at Larry’s electric harness cheaper and about the same as painless.

You have two harnesses under the hood that both come out of the C100 block by your brake booster. The one with the smaller bulkhead connector is the headlight harness that also has your horns, wiper, etc. The larger of the two has inputs for ignition and power to the harness. The other end of the harness works its way across the engine and ties into the body harness via the passenger side fender. I am not as familiar with the TPI differences over the years but I would think any TPI engine harness will work. The headlight harness is pretty standard across all versions of these cars and are cheap on ebay. Hawks sells engine harnesses albeit at quite a cost. May want to see if someone is selling one here on the classifieds.
