The bottom wiper motor is the one from the car. The one on top is a new one I picked up.
Been having issues with my wiper motor. It used to work fine but has since starting acting up. It has delay wipers but when I turn the stalk on the wiper will only work on high no other speed. It also does not go back to the home posiition. When turned on it rotates some of the time or the wipers just move a couple inches. I have since bought two more complete motors to try but have the same luck with all of them
Rebuilt motors or new motors? years ago, Years ago, on an older car, the wiper motor failed to park unless I turned off the switch. Tried two rebuilds with same problem (rebuilds do not replace the park mechanism. Purchased new motor and problem solved.
In your case the problem may exist upstream in the circuit.
All three motors that I have are used motors have not bought anything new. I wondered if it not returning to the park position was in the switch but what would cause it to not even turn the wipers all the way. They move about 3 inches and thats it. That is why I thought it might be the cam inside.
Thanks for the help.
The parking mechanism is invoked when the switch is turned off. It is within the motor itself. What u require is the wiring diagram from the switch all the way to the motor. U need someone to give u photos of the wiring diagrams. s/b 2 diagrams.
Thanks for the help and info. I bit the bullet and bought a reman from Classic Industries and now everything works as it should. Should have just bought the reman from the beginning would have saved money and headaches. Thanks
