Connector with no sensor

I have a 1988 305 Camaro and I have a 2 pin connector that’s not attached to anything passenger side front of engine near the throttle body. It has a black and a yellow wire connected to it but I can’t find any unconnected sensors around. The only sensor around that is a 2 pin is the coolant temp sensor and that has a purple and tan/yellow wires going to it. I do have a problem with cold starts, it will fire the engine for half a second and stall until I warm it up keeping the throttle up then it will idle. The maf is connected and the air intake setup as well it’s just out of the picture. Any wiring diagrams I see say the coolant temp sensor should be black and yellow which is my loose connector but then what about the purple and tan connector that’s already connected to that sensor? I’m not sure if they’re switched or not but they both need to plug in somewhere. Anyone have similar wire colors in that area that could help?
