I can’t seem to solve this reoccurring issue. I have new pigtails connectors for fuel , maf power and burn off relay, the relays are all new and work since I test the relays with my clutch fan, new ECM which did not solve the problem, new mass air flow sensor , new air filters, checked for volts and I always get the proper 12vs at the relays and at the sensor, moved the grounds from the back of the engine block and grounded them in at the firewall and just still can’t figure out how to fix code 36 and stop the car from shutting off when I put it into gear.
Nothing is works and it keeps coming back.
new ecm, new mass air flow, new and correct burn off and power relays, new air filters, new tps sensor, new pcv valve and hose, All wires look good. I can’t figure it out.
I honestly don’t even know what brand this is. The inside doesn’t look like any of the ones rock auto sales, the Delphi, BSE, Cardone. I do remember this one looking different from the inside from the original one. The car came with a Bosch brand
I have this same book.
how exactly would I ground ckt 900 or any other the wires it mentions? Get a wire from the wire to a bolt or negative post of the battery?
Circuit 900 ground with jumper wire to dash frame or negative side of the battery.
dash frame you mean the metal frame of the car right? I guess I’ll just have to cut the plastic on the wire a little just to wrap around the wire and ground it
Ok so I followed the diagnostic and everything passed and got to the bottom of light “off”.
meaning faulty ecm connection or poor connection at the relays. The relays are new with pigtails connectors and I have a new ecm. So I’m guessing I just have the wrong mass air flow and I might just have to buy another new mass air flow. Going to buy the rock auto Delphi brand.
Purchased the new Delphi mass air flow sensor and it ran way better. I now had power up the hills but after an hour of driving and driving it a little fast, I got code 33 and 43. I just can’t keep these codes off. I already have a new knock sensor. Really don’t know what to do.
Both code 33 and 43 went away after I shut the car for about an hour. Guess it was temporary. I i Didn’t ease the codes.
A member posted a few weeks back how there seemed to be a run of bad Delphi MAFs, the guy mentioned the BSE reman or Cardone seemed to be the best ones out there at least until Delphi straightens them out. This was all backed up with live data. Easy way to tell the one’s you want are they have the Bosch insignia and are hot wire on the inside.

Just keep that in mind if the codes come back.
the car hasn’t ran this good after this new maf sensor even though it gave me the codes. But yes I’m starting to believe that it’s a trial and error.
