I'm trying to straighten out the original headlight harness on my 88 Iroc which had been modified in several places so I bought a used harness off ebay that was supposed to fit an 88 Iroc.

When it got here it does not look anywhere close to my harness with the biggest thing being no fog light wiring. My electrical service manual shows it should have this wiring as part of the harness and coming through the c100 connector however the seller is insistent that on my 88 the fog light harness is not part of the headlight harness but rather separate.

I sent him pictures of the harness he sent me side by side with my original harness and even the wiring diagrams from the service manual but he still wants to argue about it and I had to open a claim.

Am I looking at the manual correct in that the fog light wiring is part of the headlight wiring on an 88? My old harness has the blue/white wires coming out of it but the plugs were cut off but this does look to be in the right place for the fog lights.

 

Guess nobody else has ran into this?? I did find a thread on here where another guy was having headlight issues and someone posted that they changed the headlight harness in 88 to incorporate the fog lights into and that appears to be what I'm dealing with on mine.

Pics below. I also noticed the 97 back harness has an extra wire at the 3 prong headlight plug that my 88 does not as well as the horn part of the harness is different so lots of small differences.


Top harness is mine laid above the one I was sent, you can see the first extra y mine has.

Not a big deal but mine top and the other bottom. Different lengths which show another difference in the harness.

Blue/white wires as part of my harness that are not in the other. Thev GM service manual shows this to be the fog light wiring.
