Lost all electrical power

My car lost all electrical while on the freeway today, lights and everything. Got a tow home and then it started up. Obviously an intermittent connection somewhere. Besides battery connections is there anything else that could cause total electrical failure?

Thanks for everyone's help.

The fusible link feeds from the large lug on the starter. One feeds the head light switch, one the ignition switch, and the other is for the alternator.

I had a 88 GTA with the same problem, it was the fusible link at the starter !

Hi Everyone, found the problem. One of the 12v lines off the big lug on the starter had broken and was grounding out intermittently on top of the starter. Thanks for everyone's help.
