Will it start? Barn find 89 Formula 350 with remote start unit
Sooo... tripped over a '89 Formula 350 in a messy estate clearance. Went to inspect with an assistant to the executor. Nice condition, 57K miles, typical storage patina. But it sat for 4-5 years (no one is positive.) Has a hillbilly installation of an aftermarket remote start. Says JBS Technologies but does not look professional, and I do not think the original remote fob can be located. Would this need to be removed to start the car? The alligator clip on the red lead does not give me confidence. Thanks for any help/advice.

If the car ran when it was stored, then the inactive remote start shouldn't keep it from starting now.
Heavy emphasis on the "if the car ran when stored" part..........
Course, after 5 (or more) years sitting, everything from the likely dead as a doornail battery, the long past skanky fuel complete with gummed up injectors, the possibly rat chewed wires, and a whole host of other sitting caused maladies very well may keep it from starting.
Got tired of trying to out think the hillbilly mods and just threw my good battery in. After a few cranks, it started right up and settled into a high idle.
Re: Will it start? Barn find 89 Formula 350 with remote start unit
At long last the 1991 I purchased 2 years ago is finally running. I have a long list of things im trying to get done by memorial day this year. I ended up needing to do a new tank and sending unit and fuel pump. I have a local shop now welding up a mid pipe end for the muffler i had to cut the end by the muffler to drop the tank.
I keep going back and forth on the C6 wheels(18x9.5 fronts and 19x10” rears) or the 1990 Hawks 17x9’s?
Curious others thoughts? Im concerned I’m not going to like the ride quality or end up with issues with C6 wheels and spacers?

Probably start your own thread instead of adding a different topic to an old thread
