Spark Issue
Spark Issue
1985 Camaro 2.8L v6. I’m having an issue getting spark. I’ve replaced everything with the spark system except for distributor. The issue I’m having is the coil is getting power with the key in the off position. But when I turn the key ON it no longer has power. I’ve checked all wiring, replaced the control module on the steering column and still nothing. Any ideas?

Re: Spark Issue
Define "getting power" and "not getting power".
On which wire(s)? How are you measuring this? (considering that the coil should have NO power with the key Off) How far upstream from the coil have you checked? (Wire itself, C100, ign sw, etc.).
Define "everything".

Re: Spark Issue
The power wire on the coil is getting 12v when the key is in the off position. When I turn the key in the ON position it loses power to the coil wire. So therefore it loses the 12v once I turn the key on.
