Car: '83 Firebird (T/A Clone)
Engine: 350 with L-69 components
Transmission: 700R-4, 2000 RPM stall converter
Axle/Gears: 10-bolt/3.73 ..
Neutral Safety Switch
Why does my neutral safety switch work in Park but not in Neutral? I just discovered this last weekend.
Is it the switch itself, or something else? This car originally had a THM-200, and now has a 700R-4. The neutral safety switch is original...

Okay well after messing with it some more, It turns out that it's just "touchy" in the N position. If I press forward gently on the shifter, it starts in Neutral.
Also discovered that the same switch is listed for all '82-'92 models with auto trans, but is "discontinued"...
