Odd ALDL readings

Guys I’ve been having an issue with my Camaro. I’ve plugged in the aldl and I’m showing an obscenely high voltage at 25 volts, while the engine is off the rpm’s and coolant temp sensor is showing maxed out numbers in tuner pro. Reading off the battery is right at 12-12.6 volts engine off and 13.7-14 ish while running. This seems to be intermittent and only after it gets warm under the hood. Once it reads normal voltages again the car runs fine. Any ideas what may cause this?

Re: Odd ALDL readings

Normal to see maxed readings when there is no data transfer. But if it’s happening while running make sure your using the correct adx for your bin that’s used in the ecm. Could be a ecm failure if intermittent while running or data glitch if a 1227165 they often disconnect.

Re: Odd ALDL readings

Sounds good. I had uploaded a new bin to the car last night because of the newer injectors. After that it didn’t want to crank at all. No fuel pump noise at all. So when I saw those numbers I thought that may have been the whole issue. Do these cars take a little bit for a new bin to upload and then be able to run. This is running on the ecm I purchased from you last week and a moates ostrich and adapter.

Once you burn a tune changes are immediate. But if using wrong adx say $32 or $32b on a $6e tune data may look skewed. Is sea flashing rapidly?

Re: Odd ALDL readings

I had that issue once and made sure to match the mask to the adx. Thank you for that suggestion. I’ll check the basics and look at grounds and what not. Hopefully it’s a simple ground or something that’s causing intermittent warm start issues. Those numbers that I saw just worried me at the time because they should be impossible but hearing that it’s normal for them to show up without the engine running makes me feel better. Thank you again for the help.

Re: Odd ALDL readings

I think the way the ecm refers to voltage it sees is off the ops wire feedback to the ecm. I really doubt it spiked to 25v but if data freezes the displayed information is messed up.
