My Blinkers!!!!!!

ok right now i bought my 92 camaro about 2 weeks ago and its in perfect shape, but the turn signals keep blowing fuses, it will work but then when i am driving it will blow when i attempt to use it most of the time, i dont know if this is a common problem but there is also a clifford alarm in the car and no remote, so it is always armed, so when u open the doors the turn signals still flash even when there is no fuse in the fuse box for the turn signal. vary weird. could the alarm be the cause?
thank you all that can help

Do all of the signals blink when you open the doors? There might be a wire touching a ground somewhere. Another thing to look for is the reverse lights, they are on the same fuse as the blinkers, do they still work? Is it connected at the shifter? I doubt the alarm is to blame.

Welcome to thirdgen!

my blinkers!!!

Yes, when i open my doors they all blink, well this is what i am gonna do right now, i am getting a new viper alarm put in since the other alarm will not accept a new remote maybe it will fix it, but it uses a 20 fuse, when i got the car i noticed a 25 was in and it workd for quite sometime, if i put another one of the 25's in will it over heat the wires for the signals?
where would some good places be to get this fixed?
thanks a ton

Do your reverse lights work still? I'm thinking if it's not the reverse lights than it must be something with the alarm wiring. If this is the case any alarm installer can fix it.

It is part of the alarm sounds like. Most alarms make you signals flash when the alarm is sounding and they flash the signals when activating. They do this by energizing the signal wire with the alarm box. Find where they spliced into the signal wire and disconnect.

I accidently had a 25 amp in there and it dien't hurt anything so go for it, until you get the problem resolved. Go post or do a search in the Tech/General Engine forum for some easy quick mods to go. I don't know if you have TPI, TBI, or are carbed so the best mod to do may vary. If you've got exhaust go ahead and start modding the intake system...like a throttle body, air foil, or carb. Maybe an ignition box or some new polyurathane brushings or newer performance suspension products. It really depends and you will get a bunch of differant options. In fact I think there is a thread called "What is the best mod for under $100" You might want to check that out too.

Thanks for the...compliments e-mail me anytime,
Matt
