MSD ignition contoller for '87+ HEI........

I have an Accel 300+ ignition box and I have been trying to find out if I can use MSD part# 8683 with the Accel box. Part# 8683 is the adjustable timing controller for 1987+ small cap cars. I just received a response to my e-mail from the MSD tech department....

Dear Sir;

The 8683 cannot be used with an MSD ignition. It's made to be used with the stock setup.

Thank You,
MSD Tech

I still don't know if I can use it with my Accel box. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks

You can not use that unit with an ignition control module. The correct unit is part number 8680 if your using an MSD or aftermarket ignition box. The 8683 is an ignition within itself and will create problems with the input to the ignition box.

Thanks,
