By itself, for a stock or lightly modded application: no, it's not worth it. For some heavier mods, and things like nitrous, the added spark and functionality is a plus. The rev limiter is nice for cars with manual transmissions, or even autos if other people drive the car (you could drop the car off at a shop with a 3k RPM pill in it and not worry about some tire jockey joyriding in it).

I was concitering this for my next mod too, but it looks like posi and 3.42';s have won. I do have a question though. Can you put a 2500 or 3000 rpm rev limiter in your car when you go to emmisions so the punk who gets in your car can't romp on it right there in front of me without me seeing the tach? Do you think they would come and ask me what's up?

The last time I went there the guy got out of my car and told me he coulden't get my car into fifth gear. The car is a three-speed automatic.

I gained 1 MPG with the MSD on my modified 355. My friend gained 3 MPG on his blown 355. Im hoping for +2 with my blower. A couple other people i know gained alot using them. They are great units, and BOY did it clear up my throttle response problem, I used to have this horrable lag when i stepped on it, but after that 6al MAN o' MAN it woke up so NICE and my plugs dont get black anymore they stay a cripsy tan... thank you MSD!!!

My MSD has saved me several times. My car has had problems running pig rich. I once ran 2 hours from Savannah GA to Jacksonville with an injector that was just dumping fuel. I would never had made it with the stock ignition. I still don't know how a spark ever jumped what little gap was left. The plugs were super fouled! Recently I've had problems with a 4.5pw at idle on my ZZ4TPI and the MSD managed to somehow fire the plugs and keep me going!
