You don't want to pull the fuse. It is the 20 amp accessory fuse. Instead open the back plastic panel and pull the connector free from the motor. When you get around to repairing it I stock the 3 parts that commonly fail (gear nut, motor housing and guides). I reinforce new GM motor housings with 4 pieces of aluminum and epoxy where they commonly break (where the 3 screws attach it to the frame). GM doesn't stock the guides. I manufacture them from solid nylon. They are much stronger than the OEM injection molded parts. Good luck, Lon.

On my '91 RS the fuse for the hatch pulldown is labeled "LID" on the fusebox. When you are under the dash it is one of the ones closest to the back of the car. As far as I know that fuse only affects the hatch pulldown and the light in the back of the interior. (I could be wrong so check things like the upper brake light before you drive around without the fuse.) If you just want to stop the motor from working (for an extended period) it would probably be better to unplug the motor like Ionsal suggested.

Also, tonight I took the whole assembly out of my car, tore it into many pieces, and put it all back together. While this is still fresh in my mind, feel free to see if I can help you with whatever problems you are having.

this whats wrong

when ever i close the hatch, the pull down thingy, pulls it down,....as soon turns the light is out pass the switch, it then automatically comes back up....unless i disconnect the motor....

its really screwy, last year i replaced th motor, it fixed it for a while, then it started up again...then i messed with it one night and itstoped messing up and worked for about 4months!...then it wouldnt go back up at all, it just sat there like a dumb@$$ , then today it just poped back up and worked for a few mins... then it started do the popup again
