MSD + Hypertech= ????

I'm going with Hypertech's cap and rotor for my 305 TBI (p/n 4060), but I'm still torn between which coil to go with. Hypertech has a kit (p/n 4054) which contains the cap, rotor and coil producing 55K volts for $72. MSD has their Blaster GM coil (p/n 8226) producing 48K volts; which when combined with Hypertech's cap and rotor will cost me $61.

1.) Is 7K more volts worth $11?? (they claim as much as 5 hp)

2.) If I just go with Hypertech's kit, will I be able to hook up my 6A box with the same ease?? or is it not compatible?

If you have an MSD 6A, you should go with the 8252 MSD HVC coil, which MSD recommends using with the 6A box for maximum output. Check out their web site for apps info. www.msdignition.com
