hey,my friend cut the wires when we took out my 305,and now io dont know what he did with the wires,i was wondering if anyone knew what color wire goes to what letter??i went to the local jy today and got another plug,but the colors are different,but if i could hook them up to the right letters,it would be alright,thanks for your time.

 

I don't know if your 84Z is the same as my 83 TA but the factory manual shows the following connections from the ecm to the distributor:

tan wire from ecm to tan with black stripe at dist. Letter C
white wire from ecm to white at dist. Letter A
black with red stripe from ecm to black with red stripe at dist. Letter D
purple with white stripe from ecm to purple with white stripe at dist. Letter B

 

hey thanks for your help,but mine has a blue wire from the ecm,and none of the others even closely match up,but thanks anyways,anyone else can you please check your wires out?thanks alot.
