cooling fan temp switch

cooling fan temp switch

my fan never comes on. the engine just overheats. i need a new cooling fan temp switch but i don't now what part number it is i tried to get a new one at pepboys but they don't now what it is i have a 86 z28 with a 305 4bbl vin G i was wondering if someone knew the part # for it thanxs you can email me at jrm00@aol.com

You should be able to use the same ones that are available for the dual fan TPI car made by JET & (I think) Hypertech. They are roughly $40 from JEGS, Summit or other places of the sort. They come on at 200° and off at 185° (one of the 2 make an even cooler temp 1 as well)

If $40 is just to outrageous for you try doing a seach for Temp Sensors, some people have found sensors from other GM cars that come on cooler than the OEM 238° ones.

Pep Boys also sells fixed and adjustible temperature fan control switchs in the $20 to $40 range.

The part number for the 190* cooling fan switch that comes with the ZZ4 Conversion kit is 3053190. It's about $37.

express auto parts sells one that is adjustable from 90deg to 200+ they also sell one with lower presets then stock fee shipping too
