Trunk struts, brake light and reverse gears...

I don't know how to begin this.

Here it goes...

I needed new struts for trunk of my Camaro. I took the old ones oout and drove for about a week without struts(very heavy trunk doors.) Everytime I closed the trunk it made that suction noise. it pulled the door tightly shut(air tight, i guess.) I installed new struts for my car today and now thier is no electric into my trunk.

I close the door and it pops back up. The door hook touches the latch, and when it is supposed "to suck the door airtight" it doesn't. Instead the door pops back up. Also, the 3rd brake light doesn't work (The rectangular one on the top.)

And, I am not sure if it is normal with all Camaros:

1. My car is AT and when i shift to reverse i have to "shift the gear into reverse then push it up so the reverse ligths stay on." If i don't the car is still in reverse but the white lights are out.

pLz HELP! My trunk is valuable to me.

The plug on the hatch strut is for your rear defrosters and not the brake light.

I dont know about your hatch struts, but as far as the whole reverse thing, my car does the same thing. I think its just how the switch is aligned in the shifter. I have never been really bothered by it, and I think a lot of our cars do this.

Neutral safetly switch(also reverse light switch) gets worn and the reverse lights don't always light up. Common problem. Check the bulb and wiring for the third brake light(I assume the regular brake lights work). Check the fuse and maybe the wiring for the hatch latch.
