auto dimmer mirror

Just purchased a used mirror off of ebay. It has a headlamp dimmer also. Has anyone seen this before? What year car does it come off of?

I have an 87 IROC 5.7L that came stock with the auto dimming R/V miror .. but unfortunitly someone stole it out of my IROC. From what i have heard though.. only 901 IROCs got the auto dimming mirror.

I have one on my '87 also. That biznitch is a little finicky though, normally I have to play with the switch to get it to turn on.

get one of the electrochromatic ones, much more reliable and a lot quicker response time than the old mechanical motorized ones.

mirror was not hard to install into a thirdgen, i caught the hot with reverse wire behind the drivers side kickpanel, hot with ignition from the power window circuit. ran the wires up behind the drivers side a-pillar trim. electrochromatic mirror wiring is hidden from sight, and mirror looks like a factory install (even though thirdgens never came with an ec mirror from factory). if you pull the a-pillar trim panel, make sure to get some new retaining clips from GM beforehand as they are not easily reusable.
